About Luke

Kia ora. I’m Luke Chandler — a community advocate, neighbour, and local problem solver.

I’ve called Riccarton home for more than a decade. This is where I live and work, and where I put my energy into practical, everyday improvements. I believe real change comes from locals who care, working together on the basics that make life better.

As Chair of Neighbourhood Support Christchurch, I help connect residents, community groups, and local organisations to make our city safer, more connected, and more resilient. Our network supports people to look out for each other — whether it’s improving safety, building stronger relationships, or responding together when challenges arise.

I’m also a self-employed consultant specialising in IT and employment relations, working with small businesses and community organisations to solve problems and improve operations. Alongside that, I run Mythical Fibre, a Riccarton-based ISP providing reliable, affordable internet to homes and small businesses.

I’ve been involved in grassroots advocacy through Rebuild Christchurch, the Church Corner Residents Association, and the Sockburn Residents Association. Whether it’s pushing for safer streets, better public amenities, or getting a broken footpath fixed, I focus on practical solutions and help community-led projects get traction.

Riccarton is heading into an important few years — with significant local challenges, competing priorities, and decisions that will affect how our area grows and functions. It’s more important than ever that we have strong, balanced advocacy focused on outcomes, not agendas.

If you, your friends, or your whānau are having local issues — whether it’s safety, infrastructure, or neighbourhood concerns — please reach out any time. I’m always happy to listen, connect you with the right people, or help find a way forward.

Thanks for visiting — and if we haven’t met yet, I look forward to it soon.
